Tutorial To Block Ads In Windows Live Messenger

Microsoft created the Windows Live Messenger application with a view to provide users with a free and simple instant messaging program. It is a very useful and popular program, and one of the few gripes that the users have with the Windows Live Messenger program is the constant blinking and movement of the ads that are displayed on the program. However, these ads in the program can be blocked by following a simple procedure. Here are some instructions provided by the Windows Live help, which you can follow, if you want to block ads in the Windows Live Messenger program. The guidelines provided here are simple and easy to follow, and you will be able to finish the procedure off within a matter of minutes.
Instructions to block ads in Windows Live Messenger
Start off by blocking the ads in the Windows Live Messenger program; for this, boot up your computer that runs on a Windows operating system. Then launch the Internet Explorer web browser, which is the default internet browser in the Windows operating systems. Click on the “Tools” option located in the topmost toolbar on the screen, and then select the “Internet Options” button.
Click on the “Security” tab and then highlight the “Restricted Sites” option. Click on the “Sites” option displayed on the window, and then you will be able to view the name of the current site that you are using on the text space shown on the screen of your computer. Remove the text from the field and then type the following web address into the text field: “http://rad.msn.com”. This Web address, that you are typing in is the one that sends ads to the Windows Live Messenger program. Once you are able to restrict the access of this website into the web browser that you are using, it will stop the Windows Live Messenger program from displaying the advertisements in the program.
Click on the “Add” button, and then select the “Ok” button in order to exit from the Web browser window.
Launch the Windows Live Messenger application in your computer. You will now see that the ads have been replaced by a banner displaying “Windows Live Messenger”.
These are the instructions recommended by the Windows Live help teams, and which you can follow if you want to stop the display of ads while using the Windows Live Messenger program in your computer.
