Instructions
- Go to the system tray of the taskbar and right-click on the “Resident Shield” icon. From the popup menu, click on the option "Open AVG User Interface”.
- Locate the option "Resident Shield" in the middle of the AVG user interface window and double-click on it. Alternatively, you may click on “Tools”, and then select "Advanced Settings". Further, click on "Resident Shield".
- Go to the Resident Shield Settings section and unmark the checkbox next to "Resident Shield Active". Then click on "Save Changes”.
- Even though you disable the Resident Shield, the email scanner and other virus protection features will remain active.
- After you have installed all the software applications and drivers, select the checkbox for “Resident Shield Active”. Click "Save Changes” again. This will enable the AVG again.
- Finally exit from the AVG User Interface window and reboot your computer.
