How To Use An Email Program To Check Your Mail Every 10-15 Minutes?

If you are using Microsoft Outlook as your primary email application, you can configure your personal email account with Outlook to check your emails automatically. This is because email services such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail are available as standalone applications. This means that although Outlook and Outlook Express come as a part of Microsoft Office suite, they can also function independently. As compared to a webmail account, your email program can be configured here to check your emails automatically. The users can always dial the Microsoft Outlook helpdesk number where the technicians would help in resolving the Outlook issues.

Once you have configured your email program for this purpose, you would get automatic alerts while getting a new incoming message. Hence, configure your email client to check your messages automatically would save you from checking every incoming message manually.

You can try the following instructions to use the email applications to check your email automatically:

For Microsoft Outlook:
  • In the first step, you need to click on the "Tools" menu at the top of the screen followed by "Options.
  • Now, click on the "Mail Setup" tab and then on the "Send/Receive" button.
  • You need to place a check in the box termed as "Schedule an automatic send/receive every." Now, you can enter the number of minutes you would like Outlook to wait between checking your messages in the box next to it.
  • Once you have entered it, click "OK" in each open window and save the changes.
For Outlook Express, Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail:
  • Even if you are using any of these email applications other than Outlook, the first step remains the same. Here also, you would require clicking the "Tools" menu at the top of the screen followed by "Options."
  • Now, you can click on the "General" tab.
  • Next, you need to place a check in the box labeled "Check for new messages every." Now, as in the case of Outlook, you can type in the number of minutes you would like your email program to wait between checking your messages.
  • Once you’re done, click "OK" and save the changes.
These steps provided by the technicians at the Outlook helpdesk would thus help you in configuring your email program to check your mails automatically. For more information, feel free to contact our technical support team.
